2017 was an amazing year for Viewber

2017 has been an extraordinary year, both for Viewber and me personally. Viewber has grown from a good idea into a flourishing business and our customer base has multiplied and crosses many different verticals, indeed potential customers are now seeing benefits before we are…..and why not, a huge easily accessible database of trusted local people can benefit so many different businesses.

Most satisfying has been watching users develop HOW they use the service, with one £5k/month High Street agent client now ahead by over £40k in just three months thanks to deals done purely on weekends – deals he simply wouldn’t have seen without Viewber.

It’s become increasingly obvious that for many companies the single biggest drag on their ability to do business is precisely that ability to get people around their properties, whether for sale or to let. Many companies run stats on how many viewings it talks to get an offer/do a deal so it’s logical to assume that the more viewings you do the more deals will flow.

The High Street agents who now get services like Viewber stand out a mile. They’re already successful and are looking for ways to do more. For many the issue is ‘who are the Viewbers’ and we go the extra mile to ensure they’re the sort of people you can rely on. Having been in agency for four decades I’m well aware that many agents use all sorts of viewing staff, indeed many of the very smartest use locals out of hours, so if they do why shouldn’t all agents and property managers have access to the same sort of service.

At the other end of the service, and its backbone, there are now thousands of vetted local Viewbers. All have other careers, or are retired, but love doing work they are offered via their smartphone to accept when it suits them.

The Gig economy has had its detractors but US experience is showing that almost one in three workers is now part of the freelance economy, and that number is growing fast.

For me, as a Baby Boomer, the expression ‘working from home’ is still often considered skiving, but the last fifteen months have taught me just how much more productive and happy it’s possible to be when you work in your time and are not subject to someone else’s timing schedule.

2017 has seen the arrival of bespoke software that, for the first time, joins the Property Industry with an army of vetted locals ready to help with any low complex task– and that’s something to be proud of, both for those using it and earning from it.
